What is a request and why is buying extra request packs cheaper than the standard plan limits?

Request in the Binom AI system is the basic unit of interaction. It represents one generated response from the synthetic employee to a user's question. It is important to understand that a request is not an incoming message from a customer, nor the entire dialogue, but each individual reply created by the artificial intelligence.

What are requests spent on?

Requests are deducted in two main cases:

  • Customer communication: Binom's replies across all connected channels (website, messengers, telephony).
  • Setup and training: interaction with Binom Tutor, the fine-tuning process, response review, and testing also use up your request balance.

Why is buying additional packs more cost-effective than standard limits?

Although each pricing plan includes a set number of requests per month (from 250 on the Free plan to 1,500 on the Business plan), buying additional packs offers several significant advantages:

  1. No expiry: Requests included in your main pricing plan "expire" at the end of the subscription period and do not roll over to the next month. Additional packs you purchase never reset and have no expiration date. They remain on your balance until fully used.
  2. Flexible deduction system: The platform uses a priority logic: standard monthly requests from your plan are used first. An additional pack is activated automatically only when the main monthly balance is fully used up.
  3. Protection against service interruption: Additional packs act as a safety net in case of a sudden traffic spike or periods of intensive training through Tutor, ensuring that Binom does not stop responding to customers at the most critical moment.
  4. Volume savings: Users can choose packs of different sizes, which helps optimize costs:
    • 1,000 requests: €50;
    • 3,000 requests: €135;
    • 5,000 requests: €190.

In your personal account, you can always check the exact remaining balance in the "Current balance" field and view a breakdown of expenses for each employee.

Why are additional packs a better deal than standard limits?

Although each plan includes a set number of requests per month (from 250 on the Free plan to 1,500 on the Business plan), buying additional packs has several significant advantages:

  1. No expiry: Requests included in your base plan "burn" at the end of the subscription period and do not roll over to the next month. Additional packs you buy never reset and have no expiration date: they stay on your balance until fully used.
  2. Smart deduction: The platform uses a priority logic: standard monthly requests from your plan are used first. An additional pack activates automatically only once the main monthly balance is fully used up.
  3. Protection from service interruption: Additional packs act as a safety net for sudden traffic spikes or periods of intensive training via Tutor, ensuring that Binom does not stop answering customers at the most critical moment.
  4. Savings at scale: Packs of different sizes are available, so you can optimize your spending:

    • 1,000 requests – €50;
    • 3,000 requests – €135;
    • 5,000 requests – €190.

Request vs. token: what's the difference

Many AI services count usage in tokens: small pieces of text into which the model splits the question and the answer. You can't tell in advance how many tokens a single answer will use. Binom counts usage in requests instead: one request equals one Binom reply, regardless of its length. That makes it easy to work out how many customer replies your balance will cover.

Where to check request usage

In Subscription → "Usage details": "Requests used (chat)" covers customer replies, and "Requests used (training)" covers work with Tutor and training. For more, see AI request balance.
