Humaans Integration: Time Off and HR Questions in Chat – Humaans at Binom

Updated 6 min read 03 / 07
Short answer

How to connect Humaans to Binom: time off requests, holidays, and colleague information. Available on request.

The Humaans integration with Binom helps your team with HR questions: the AI employee records time off, answers questions about public holidays, and finds colleague details. Humaans is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Humaans.

What Binom can do in Humaans

Binom here means your AI employee. After you connect Humaans, it calls the service's actions when a conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Humaans).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Employees Employees, documents, equipment, emergency contacts Create and edit
Time away Time away records, types, policies, accruals, adjustments Create and edit time away
Holidays Holiday calendars No
Compensation Compensation Create and edit

Can Binom record time off in Humaans?

Yes. The employee provides the dates and reason, and Binom checks the time away types ("List All Time Away Types") and creates the record ("Create A Time Away").

Holidays and colleagues

Binom answers questions about public holidays ("List All Public Holidays") and finds a colleague ("List All People").

What access you will need

Connection method: API key. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Humaans page in the dashboard.

How to get the Humaans integration

Humaans is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the guide how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Humaans" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Humaans card.
  2. The page "Humaans integration for the assistant" will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows what access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Humaans.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Humaans page.
  5. Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connect Humaans" window, and click "Done." After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected." If you see "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete. Check again in a minute.", click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Humaans

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, it cannot use any of them."

  1. On the Humaans page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your confirmation.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms your changes.

To get started, "List All People", "List All Time Away Types", "List All Public Holidays", and "Create A Time Away" are enough. Add the actions that change or delete data when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Humaans.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, ask about upcoming holidays, and compare the answer with Humaans.

Possible issues

Binom does not use Humaans data in its answers

What to check: the Humaans status shows "Connected", and the required actions are ticked (for example "List All Time Away Types").
What to do: tick the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Humaans data.

"Could not record the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Humaans).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been recorded."

You do not need to do anything else: your request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Humaans becomes available to connect.

"Reconnection required"

What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved credentials, so the assistant does not use them."
What to do: open the Humaans page under More integrations, click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Humaans), and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connecting Humaans" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For details on what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Humaans again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Humaans themselves. For more details, see access levels in a team.
How to tell it is resolved: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a human" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of your Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Humaans

On the Humaans page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Humaans?" dialog will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and you will see "Integration disconnected".

Other common questions

Do I need a developer to integrate Humaans?

No. You request Humaans in Integrations → More integrations, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect your account yourself and choose the actions.
