Factorial Integration: Employee Leave and Candidate Replies in Chat – Factorial in Binom

Short answer

How to connect Factorial to Binom: employee leave, job openings and candidate replies. Available on request.

The Factorial integration with Binom helps both employees and candidates: your AI employee records time off, tells candidates about open positions, and accepts job applications. Factorial is available on request in your Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Factorial.

What Binom can do in Factorial

Here, Binom refers to your AI employee. Once Factorial is connected, it calls the service's actions when a conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Factorial).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Leave Leave requests and their types Create, edit, approve
Job postings Job postings Create and edit
Candidates and applications Candidates, applications, hiring stages Create a candidate, apply to a job posting
Fields and data Custom fields and resources Create and edit

Can the chatbot accept a job application in Factorial?

Yes. Binom shows open job postings ("List Job Postings") and submits a candidate's application ("Apply To Job").

Employee time off

An employee says they want a day off, and Binom creates the leave request ("Create Leave"). A manager can approve it through "Approve Leave".

What access you will need

You can connect using either of these methods: an API key, or OAuth 2.0 sign-in (you log in to your service account and confirm access). Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Factorial page in the dashboard.

How to get the Factorial integration

Factorial is available on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Factorial" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Factorial card.
  2. The "Factorial integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Factorial.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom team member will contact you about setup. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Factorial page.
  5. Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Factorial" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If you see "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute.", click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Factorial

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant may call. Until you select something, it has no access to any of them."

  1. On the Factorial page, check the boxes next to the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes data, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your approval.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms your changes.

To get started, "List Job Postings", "Apply To Job", "List Leaves" and "Create Leave" are enough. Add actions that edit or delete data when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Factorial.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, ask about open job postings, and compare the answer with Factorial.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Factorial data in its answers

What to check: that the Factorial status is "Connected" and that the required actions are checked (for example, "Apply To Job").
What to do: check the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the "Allowed actions saved" message appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Factorial data.

"Could not save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Factorial).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"The integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Factorial can be connected.

"Reconnection required"

What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Factorial page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Factorial) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect Factorial" window opens.

"Paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Factorial again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Factorial themselves. For more details, see access levels in a team.
How to tell it is resolved: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send the message "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Tutor. Specify the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Factorial

On the Factorial page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Factorial?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the access details again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Other common questions

Do I need a developer to integrate Factorial?

No. You request Factorial in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
