Nmbrs integration: vacation and absences in chat – Nmbrs in Binom

Updated 6 min read 01 / 17
Short answer

How to connect Nmbrs to Binom: vacation balance, leave requests, absences. Available on request.

The Nmbrs integration with Binom helps employees with vacations: the AI employee checks the remaining leave balance, submits a leave request, and deletes it if needed. Nmbrs is available on request in the Binom cabinet: Integrations → More integrations → Nmbrs.

What Binom can do in Nmbrs

Binom here refers to your AI employee. After Nmbrs is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the cabinet, each action is marked: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Nmbrs).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Leave and absences Balances, requests, absences, groups Creating and deleting a request, absence
Employees Employees, contracts, history Creating and editing
Salary Salaries, payslips, components Creating salary and components
Hours Fixed and variable hours Creating
Structure Companies, departments, positions, managers Editing

Can Binom submit a leave request in Nmbrs?

Yes. Binom checks the balance ("List Leave Balances") and creates a request ("Create Leave Request"). If plans change, it deletes the request ("Delete Leave Request").

Sick leave absence

An employee reports being ill, and Binom records the absence ("Create Employee Absence").

What access you will need

Connection method: sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you log in to your service account and confirm access). You will need an integration in the Nmbrs developer portal and an API subscription key. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Nmbrs page in the cabinet.

How to get the Nmbrs integration

Nmbrs is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions on how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Nmbrs" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Nmbrs card.
  2. The "Nmbrs integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Nmbrs.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Nmbrs page.
  5. Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Nmbrs" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete: check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Nmbrs

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The cabinet states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant may call. Until something is selected, it has no access to any of them."

  1. On the Nmbrs page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes records, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your confirmation.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "List Employees", "List Leave Balances", "Create Leave Request" and "Create Employee Absence" are enough. Add the actions that change and delete data when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Nmbrs.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, ask about your leave balance and compare it with Nmbrs.

Possible issues

Binom does not use Nmbrs data in its answers

What to check: that the Nmbrs status is "Connected" and the needed actions are ticked (for example "List Leave Balances").
What to do: tick the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the "Allowed actions saved" message appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Nmbrs data.

"Could not save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Nmbrs).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"The integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Nmbrs becomes available to connect.

"Reconnection required"

What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved credentials, so the assistant does not use them."
What to do: open the Nmbrs page under More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Nmbrs) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connecting Nmbrs" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Nmbrs again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What it means: only users with the Owner or Administrator access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Administrator level or to connect Nmbrs themselves. More details: access levels in the team.
How to tell it is resolved: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send the message "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Tutor. Include the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Nmbrs

On the Nmbrs page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Nmbrs?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the access details again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a developer to integrate Nmbrs?

No. You request Nmbrs in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
