How to connect Klaviyo to Binom: customer profiles from chats, back-in-stock notifications, personalized promo codes and events. Available on request.
The Klaviyo integration with Binom connects conversations with your email and SMS marketing: the AI employee creates a customer profile, subscribes it to a back-in-stock notification, issues a personal promo code, and passes events from the conversation to Klaviyo. Customers from chats go straight into your campaigns and flows. Klaviyo is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Klaviyo.
What Binom can do in Klaviyo
Binom here refers to your AI employee. Once Klaviyo is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Klaviyo).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Profiles, lists, segments | Customer profiles, lists, segments | Creating and updating a profile |
| Product catalog | Products, variants with SKU, price and stock, categories | Creating and changing products and variants |
| Back-in-stock notifications | None | Subscribing a profile to a back-in-stock notification for a variant |
| Coupons and promo codes | Coupons and codes | Creating a coupon and a code, changing a code's status |
| Events | Customer events | Passing an event from a conversation |
| Campaigns | Campaigns, estimating the number of recipients | Draft, editing, copying, sending, canceling a send |
| Flows | Flows and their steps | Creating a flow, editing a step, deleting |
| Forms | Signup forms | Creating and deleting a form |
Back-in-stock notification from a chat
Yes. If a product is out of stock, Binom uses the "Create Back In Stock Subscription" action to subscribe the customer's profile to a notification by email, SMS, or push. The customer profile must already exist, so Binom first creates or updates it using the email or phone number from the conversation. Binom can check stock in the Klaviyo catalog: the variant contains an inventory count ("Get Catalog Variant").
Personal promo code in a conversation
A customer hesitates or asks for a discount, and you have allowed promo codes: Binom creates a unique code ("Create Coupon Code") for a coupon set up in Klaviyo and gives it to the customer. The code is tied to the coupon, so you set the discount terms.
Conversation events for your flows
With the "Create Event" action, Binom passes an event from the conversation to the customer's profile, for example interest in a product. Events are visible in Klaviyo and can be used in your flows and segments.
How to get the Klaviyo integration
Klaviyo is set up on request: first, the Binom team configures the integration for your account.
- Open Integrations → More integrations, type "Klaviyo" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Klaviyo card.
- The "Klaviyo integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows what access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Klaviyo.
- Click "Request integration". You will see "Request sent. You will be notified when the integration is available.", and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. Once the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Klaviyo page.
- Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Klaviyo" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If you see "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute.", click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Klaviyo
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant may trigger. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."
- On the Klaviyo page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your reply.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To get started, "List Catalog Items", "Create Back In Stock Subscription", "Create Coupon Code" and "Create Event" are enough. Add update and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Klaviyo.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, leave a test email, and ask to be notified when the product is back in stock. Check the subscription in Klaviyo.
- Ask for a discount and check that a new code for your coupon has appeared in Klaviyo.
- Delete the test profile after checking.
