How to connect JotForm to Binom: ask form questions in chat, submit answers, and find past submissions. Available on request.
The JotForm integration with Binom turns a conversation into a completed form: your AI employee asks the customer your form's questions, submits the answers to JotForm, and finds past submissions. JotForm is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → JotForm.
What Binom can do in JotForm
Here, Binom means your AI employee. Once JotForm is connected, it calls the service's actions when a conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in JotForm).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Forms | Forms, questions, properties | Creating, copying, and editing questions and properties |
| Submissions | Form submissions | Submitting an answer, editing, deleting |
| Reports | Form reports | Creating a report |
| Labels | Labels | Creating and editing |
Can a chatbot fill out a JotForm form for a customer?
Yes. Binom takes the questions from your form ("List Form Questions"), asks them in the conversation, and submits the answers ("Create Form Submission"). The submission goes to the same place as answers from your website.
Past submissions
Binom finds form submissions ("List Form Submissions") and the details of a specific one ("Get Submission"), for example to remind a customer what they entered.
What access you will need
Connection method: API key. You create the key in JotForm settings, in the API section; writing requires full access. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the JotForm page in your account.
How to get the JotForm integration
JotForm is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the guide how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, type "JotForm" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the JotForm card.
- The "JotForm integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in JotForm.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the JotForm page.
- Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connect JotForm" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If you see "Confirmation hasn't arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute.", click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in JotForm
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, the assistant has no access to any of them."
- On the JotForm page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before a write or delete action, Binom will describe what it plans to do and wait for your response.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To get started, "List User Forms," "List Form Questions," "Create Form Submission," and "List Form Submissions" are enough. Add the change and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom modify data in JotForm.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new dialog with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, fill in a test form through the chat, and check the answer in JotForm.
Possible problems
Binom does not use JotForm data in its answers
What to check: the JotForm status is "Connected," and the needed actions are selected (for example, "List Form Questions").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new dialog Binom answers using JotForm data.
"Could not save the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (JotForm).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested."
"Integration is temporarily unavailable. Your request has been saved."
Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when JotForm can be connected.
"Needs reconnection"
What it means: "The service no longer accepts the saved access, so the assistant is not using it."
What to do: open the JotForm page in More integrations, click "Reconnect," and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected."
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (JotForm), and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect JotForm" window opens.
"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will notify you when it launches." For what is included in each plan, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open JotForm again.
"You do not have permission to manage this section."
What it means: only users with the Owner or Administrator access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Administrator access level, or have them connect JotForm themselves. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it is resolved: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the Binom Tutor chat. Include the name of your Binom, the integration, and a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect JotForm
On the JotForm page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect JotForm?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, the integration will need to be connected again and the access details entered again." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.
Other common questions
Do I need a developer to integrate JotForm?
No. You request JotForm in Integrations → More integrations, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
