How to connect BigChange to Binom: on-site job requests, status updates and visit rescheduling, notes for the technician. Available on request.
The BigChange integration with Binom takes job requests for on-site work directly in the conversation: the AI employee creates a contact and a job, reports its status, and adds notes for the technician. BigChange is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → BigChange.
What Binom can do in BigChange
Binom here means your AI employee. After BigChange is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in BigChange).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Jobs | Jobs, job types, job sheets | Create, update, cancel, outcome |
| Clients | Contacts, groups, people | Create and update |
| Notes | Notes and their status | Create and update |
| Invoices | Invoices and their line items | Create, update, cancel |
| Resources | Staff, vehicles, stock | Create and update |
Can a chatbot take an on-site job request in BigChange?
Yes. Binom finds or creates the client ("Create Contact") and creates a job ("Create Job") with the work description and address from the conversation.
Job status on the client's request
Binom finds the job ("Get Job") and states its status. If the client reschedules a visit, Binom updates the job ("Update Job").
What access will be needed
Connection method: sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you log into your service account and confirm access). Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the BigChange page in the dashboard.
How to get the BigChange integration
BigChange is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "BigChange" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the BigChange card.
- The "BigChange integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Assistant here means your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in BigChange.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the BigChange page.
- Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect BigChange" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in BigChange
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."
- On the BigChange page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before an action that creates, updates or deletes a record, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your confirmation.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To start, "List Contacts", "Create Contact", "Create Job" and "Get Job" are enough. Add actions for editing and deleting when you are ready to let Binom make changes in BigChange.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, and submit a test request. Check it in BigChange.
- Cancel the test request after checking it.
Possible problems
Binom does not use BigChange data in its answers
What to check: the BigChange status is "Connected", and the needed actions are ticked (for example "Create Contact").
What to do: tick the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using BigChange data.
"Could not save the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (BigChange).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".
"The integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."
Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when BigChange becomes available to connect.
"Reconnection required"
What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the BigChange page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (BigChange) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect BigChange" window opens.
"Paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open BigChange again.
"You do not have permission to manage this section."
What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect BigChange yourself. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it's resolved: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem persists, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a human" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of your Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect BigChange
On the BigChange page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect BigChange?" dialog will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.
Other common questions
Can Binom cancel a job in BigChange?
Yes, with the "Cancel Job" action, with confirmation when "Ask before changing data" is turned on.
Do I need a developer to integrate BigChange?
No. You request BigChange in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
