Wrike Tasks from Chat: Create, Comment and Check Status – Wrike in Binom

Updated 6 min read 01 / 20
Short answer

How to connect Wrike to Binom: create tasks in the right folder from client requests, add comments and check status. Available on request.

The Wrike integration with Binom turns requests from clients and your team into project tasks: your AI employee creates a task in the right folder, adds a comment and reports the status. Wrike is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → Wrike.

What Binom can do in Wrike

Binom here refers to your AI employee. After Wrike is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Wrike).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Tasks Tasks, search, history Create, delete
Comments Comments on tasks and folders Create, edit, delete
Folders and spaces Folder tree, spaces Create, copy, edit
Processes and fields Processes, statuses, custom fields Create and edit
Team Contacts, groups Edit

Can a chatbot create a task in Wrike?

Yes. Binom finds the right folder ("Get Folder Tree") and creates a task ("Create Task") with a description from the conversation, then adds details in a comment ("Create Task Comment").

Task status

Binom finds the task ("Get Tasks") and tells the client or employee its status.

What access you will need

Connection method: sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you log in to your service account and confirm access). You will need an app in the Wrike App Console. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Wrike page in your account.

How to get the Wrike integration

Wrike is available on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the guide how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Wrike" in the "Search integrations" field and open the Wrike card.
  2. On the "Wrike integration for assistant" page, you will see the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows what access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Wrike.
  3. Click "Request integration". "Request sent. You will get a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Wrike page.
  5. Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Wrike" window and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Wrike

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, it cannot use any of them."

  1. On the Wrike page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before a write or delete action, Binom will describe what it plans to do and wait for your reply.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To start, "Get Folder Tree", "List Folder Tasks", "Create Task" and "Create Task Comment" are enough. Add edit and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Wrike.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, send a test request and check the task in Wrike.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Wrike data in its answers

What to check: the Wrike status is "Connected" and the needed actions are selected (for example "List Folder Tasks").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is fixed: "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Wrike data.

"Could not save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Wrike).
How to tell it is fixed: the button shows "Requested".

"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Wrike can be connected.

"Reconnection required"

What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Wrike page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is fixed: the status is "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Wrike) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is fixed: the "Connect Wrike" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what is included in each plan, see the plans and subscription prices page. To change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Wrike again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What it means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Wrike themselves. More: access levels in a team.
How to tell it is fixed: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the Tutor chat. Include the name of your Binom, the integration and a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Wrike

On the Wrike page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Wrike?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, the integration will need to be connected again and access entered again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Common questions

Do I need a developer for the Wrike integration?

No. You request Wrike in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
