Pipedrive Integration: Chat Leads into Your CRM – Pipedrive in Binom

Short answer

How to connect Pipedrive to Binom: contacts, leads and deals from chats, plus notes and tasks for your sales managers. Available on request.

The Pipedrive integration with Binom sends leads from chats straight into the CRM: your AI employee finds or creates a contact, adds a lead or deal, attaches a note, and assigns a task to a manager. Requests don't get lost in the conversation, and the manager receives the client with the context of the chat. Pipedrive is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → Pipedrive.

What Binom can do in Pipedrive

Binom here refers to your AI employee. After Pipedrive is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is marked: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Pipedrive).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Contacts Contacts, search by name, email and phone Create, update, merge duplicates
Organizations Organizations, search Create, update, merge
Leads Leads, search, labels and lead sources Create and update a lead
Deals Deals, search, summary, products in a deal Create, update (including stage), duplicate, add a product to a deal
Pipelines Pipelines, stages, conversion and deal movement Create and update pipelines and stages
Activities Calls, meetings, tasks, activity types Create and update an activity
Notes and files Notes, files Add a note and a file
Products Products, search by name and SKU Create and update a product
Team Users, roles, goals Goals

How to automatically create a deal in Pipedrive from a chat

When a client leaves their contact details in a conversation, Binom passes the request to Pipedrive on its own:

  1. searches for an existing contact ("Search Persons");
  2. creates a contact ("Add Person") or updates the one it found ("Update Person");
  3. adds a lead ("Add Lead") or a deal ("Add Deal") at the stage you use for new requests;
  4. adds a note summarizing the conversation ("Add Note").

Lead or deal: what does Binom create in Pipedrive?

Either one, depending on the permitted actions. A lead in Pipedrive is not yet a qualified request, while a deal is already in the pipeline. Decide which your team would prefer to receive from chats, and select "Add Lead" or "Add Deal".

Tasks and meetings for the manager

With the "Add Activity" action, Binom schedules a call, meeting, or task for the manager, linked to a deal or contact. The client agreed to a call in the chat, and a dated activity immediately appears in Pipedrive.

Answers on products and deals

Binom searches for products by name or SKU ("Search Products") and can add a product to a deal with a price and quantity ("Add Product To Deal"). This is useful when a client chooses a product right in the conversation.

How to get the Pipedrive integration

Pipedrive is set up on request: first, the Binom team configures the integration for your account.

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, type "Pipedrive" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Pipedrive card.
  2. The "Pipedrive integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows what access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Pipedrive.
  3. Click "Request integration". "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Pipedrive page.
  5. Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Pipedrive" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Pipedrive

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant may trigger. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."

  1. On the Pipedrive page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. To find them by name, use the "Filter by actions" field. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes data, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your answer.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "Search Persons", "Add Person", "Add Lead", "Add Deal" and "Add Note" are enough. Add the update and delete actions when you are ready to trust Binom with changes in Pipedrive.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, and leave a test name, email and phone number. Check that a contact and a lead or deal appeared in Pipedrive.
  • Ask it to call you back at a specific time and check that a task appeared.
  • Delete the test records in Pipedrive after checking.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Pipedrive data in its answers

What to check: that the Pipedrive status is "Connected" and the needed actions are selected (for example "Add Person" and "Add Deal").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Pipedrive data.

"Could not record the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Pipedrive).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been recorded."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Pipedrive can be connected.

"Reconnection required"

What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved credentials, so the assistant does not use them."
What to do: open the Pipedrive page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it's fixed: the status shows "Connected".

"Couldn't start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Pipedrive) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it's fixed: the "Connect Pipedrive" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will say "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page. After changing your plan, go back to More integrations and open Pipedrive again.

"You don't have permission to manage this section."

What it means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Pipedrive themselves. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it's fixed: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem persists, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the Tutor chat. Include the name of your Binom, the integration and a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Pipedrive

On the Pipedrive page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Pipedrive?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to connect the integration again and re-enter the credentials." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Other common questions

Can Binom assign a manager a task in Pipedrive?

Yes, with the "Add Activity" action: a call, meeting or task linked to a deal, lead or contact.

Do I need a developer to integrate Pipedrive?

No. You request Pipedrive in Integrations → More integrations, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
