How to connect Attio to Binom: people and companies from conversations, entries in pipeline lists, notes and tasks. Available on request.
The Attio integration with Binom passes people and companies from conversations into your CRM: the AI employee finds the record, creates a person and a company, adds them to the right list, leaves a note and sets a task. Attio is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Attio.
What Binom can do in Attio
Binom here means your AI employee. Once Attio is connected, it calls the service's actions when a conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Attio).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Records | People, companies and any objects, search by name, email, domain, phone | Create, edit, delete records |
| Lists | Lists and their entries | Add an entry to a list, edit fields in a list |
| Notes and comments | Notes, discussions | Create notes and comments |
| Tasks | Tasks | Create a task with a due date and an assignee, edit |
| Structure | Objects, attributes, statuses | Create and edit attributes and statuses |
Can a chatbot add a contact to Attio?
Yes. Binom searches for the person ("Search Records") and, if they are not there, creates a record ("Create Person") and a company ("Create Company").
Chat lead into an Attio pipeline
Attio pipelines are usually managed as a list. Binom adds a record to the right list ("Create List Entry"), writes a note summarizing the conversation ("Create Note"), and sets a task for the manager with a due date ("Create Task").
What access you will need
You can choose how to connect: sign in via OAuth 2.0 (you log into your service account and confirm access); or an API key. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Attio page in the dashboard.
How to get the Attio integration
Attio is available on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Attio" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Attio card.
- The "Attio integration for assistant" page will show the message "The integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Attio.
- Click "Request integration". "Request sent. You will get a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Attio page.
- Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Attio" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete; check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Attio
The connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard says it directly: "Select the actions that the assistant can perform. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."
- On the Attio page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes a record, Binom will describe what it plans to do and wait for your reply.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To get started, "Search Records", "Create Person", "Create List Entry" and "Create Note" are enough. Add the update and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Attio.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, and leave test contact details. Check the record and the list in Attio.
- Delete the test record after you check it.
Possible problems
Binom does not use Attio data in its replies
What to check: that the Attio status is "Connected" and the required actions are selected (for example "Create Person").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is fixed: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom replies using Attio data.
"Could not save your request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Attio).
How to tell it is fixed: the button shows "Requested".
"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."
You don't need to do anything else: your request is saved, and you will get a notification when Attio can be connected.
"Reconnection required"
What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Attio page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is fixed: the status shows "Connected".
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Attio) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is fixed: the "Attio connection" window opens.
"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For details on what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page. For instructions on switching plans, see how to change or upgrade your plan. After you change your plan, go back to More integrations and open Attio again.
"You don't have permission to manage this section."
What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Attio yourself. More details: access levels in the team.
How to tell it's fixed: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem persists, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of your Binom and the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect Attio
On the Attio page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Attio?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the access details again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.
