Close integration: leads, deals and email sequences from chats – Close in Binom

Short answer

How to connect Close to Binom: leads and contacts from conversations, deals, tasks, notes and email sequences. Available on request.

The Close integration with Binom passes leads from chats to the sales team's CRM: the AI employee creates a lead and a contact, opens a deal, sets a task, adds a note, and subscribes the client to an email sequence. Close is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Close.

What Binom can do in Close

Here, Binom means your AI employee. Once Close is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation requires that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is marked: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Close).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Leads and contacts Leads, contacts, lead statuses Create, edit, merge duplicates
Deals Deals, pipelines, deal statuses Create and edit deals
Activities Calls, emails, SMS, meetings, notes Note, call log entry
Tasks Tasks Create and edit
Sequences Sequences and subscriptions Subscribe a contact to a sequence, pause and resume
Team Users, groups, roles, availability None

Can a chatbot create a lead in Close?

Yes. Binom creates a lead ("Create Lead") and a contact within it ("Create Contact"), adds a note summarizing the conversation ("Create Note"), and sets a task for the manager ("Create Task").

Deal and email sequence from a conversation

Once interest is confirmed, Binom opens a deal ("Create Opportunity") and subscribes the contact to an email sequence ("Subscribe Contact To Sequence"), so the client receives follow-up without the manager's involvement.

What access you will need

You can connect in one of two ways: sign in via OAuth 2.0 (you log into your service account and confirm access), or use an API key. An API key gets the permissions of the user who created it. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Close page in the dashboard.

How to get the Close integration

Close is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general rules of the catalog are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Close" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Close card.
  2. The "Close integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Close.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Close page.
  5. Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Close" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete: check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Close

The connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account page says it plainly: "Select the actions the assistant may perform. Until something is selected, it has no access to any of them."

  1. On the Close page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that creates, changes or deletes records, Binom describes what it plans to do and waits for your reply.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "List Leads", "Create Lead", "Create Contact" and "Create Note" are enough. Add the update and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Close.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, and leave test contact details. Check the lead and the contact in Close.
  • Delete the test lead after checking.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Close data in its answers

What to check: that the Close status reads "Connected" and the needed actions are selected (for example "Create Lead").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is fixed: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Close data.

"Could not save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Close).
How to tell it is fixed: the button shows "Requested".

"The integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

You do not need to do anything else: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Close becomes available to connect.

"Reconnect required"

What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Close page under More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is fixed: the status reads "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Close) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is fixed: the "Connect Close" window opens.

"Available on a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Close again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Close yourself. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it's resolved: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem isn't resolved, email support@binomai.com or write "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Close

On the Close page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Close?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to connect the integration again and re-enter the credentials." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Other common questions

Can Binom log a call in a lead's history in Close?

Yes, with the "Log Call" action: the call will appear in the lead's activities.

Do I need a developer to integrate Close?

No. You request Close in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
