Short answer

How to connect Nutshell to Binom: contacts and deals from conversations, pipelines, tasks and notes. Available on request.

The Nutshell integration with Binom passes requests from chats into your CRM: the AI employee creates a contact and a company, opens a deal in the right pipeline, sets a task, and adds a note. Nutshell is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Nutshell.

What Binom can do in Nutshell

Here, Binom refers to your AI employee. Once Nutshell is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Nutshell).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Contacts and companies Contacts, companies, fields Create, update, restore
Deals (leads) Deals, stages, outcomes, report Create, update status, assign pipeline, reopen
Activities and tasks Activities, tasks Create and update
Notes and tags Notes, tags, sources Create
Products Products and categories Create categories

Can a chatbot create a deal in Nutshell?

Yes. Binom creates a contact ("Create Contact") and a deal ("Create Lead"), then places it in the right pipeline ("Set Lead Pipeline").

Task and note for the manager

After the conversation, Binom sets a task ("Create Task") and adds a note ("Create Note").

What access you will need

Connection method: API key. You will need your Nutshell email and API key. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Nutshell page in the dashboard.

How to get the Nutshell integration

Nutshell is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. General catalog rules are described in the instructions on how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Nutshell" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Nutshell card.
  2. The "Nutshell integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Nutshell.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Nutshell page.
  5. Click "Connect," complete the steps in the "Connecting Nutshell" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete. Check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Nutshell

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant may call. Until something is selected, it has no access to any of them."

  1. On the Nutshell page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes records, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your reply.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "List Contacts", "Create Contact", "Create Lead" and "Create Task" are enough. Add the update and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Nutshell.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, and leave test contacts. Check the contact and the deal in Nutshell.
  • Delete the test records after checking.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Nutshell data in its answers

What to check: that the Nutshell status is "Connected" and that the needed actions are ticked (for example "Create Contact").
What to do: tick the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Nutshell data.

"Couldn't save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Nutshell).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

You don't need to do anything else: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Nutshell can be connected.

"Needs reconnection"

What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Nutshell page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".

"Couldn't start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Nutshell) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connecting Nutshell" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Nutshell again.

"You don't have permission to manage this section."

What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Nutshell yourself. More details: access levels in the team.
How to tell it's resolved: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem persists, write to support@binomai.com or, in the chat with Binom Tutor, type "I want to talk to a person". Specify the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Nutshell

On the Nutshell page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Nutshell?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.

Other common questions

Do I need a developer to integrate Nutshell?

No. You request Nutshell in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
