How to connect artificial intelligence to Telegram?
To connect artificial intelligence (a synthetic employee from Binom Ai) to Telegram, you need to create a Telegram bot and link it to the binomai.com system. Follow these steps:
- Open the Telegram application.
- Search for BotFather in chats – this is the official service for creating bots.
- Click Start and send the command /newbot.
- Create and specify your bot's name and unique username.
- After the bot is created, BotFather will send you the API token of your Telegram bot – make
sure to keep it safe. - Copy the received API token, paste it into the bot token field on the Telegram integrations page:
https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations and click Connect.
After that, the artificial intelligence will be connected to your Telegram bot and will be able to interact with users.
If you do not yet have a synthetic employee from Binom Ai, you can create one in about 30 minutes in a
dialogue mode with AI after registering at binomai.com.

Binom connects to Telegram through your own bot: customers write to the bot, and Binom replies to them, advising, selecting products and taking orders around the clock. All conversations appear in the shared "Chats" section, as messages from the website. To connect, create a bot in @BotFather and paste its token in Integrations → "Telegram: customer chat."
If you need a bot that sends notifications to your team (about orders, complaints, requests for a human), that is a separate bot: how to connect a Telegram bot for employees.
Step 1. Create a bot in Telegram
- Open the Telegram app and search for the official bot @BotFather.
- Tap "Start" and send the command
/newbot. - Enter a bot name (for example, "My Shop Support"), then a bot username in Latin letters. It must end in
bot(for example,my_shop_support_bot). - BotFather will send a message with a long key. This is the API token. Copy it.
Step 2. Connect the bot to Binom
- Open Integrations → "Telegram: customer chat".
- Paste the token into the "Customer bot API token" field.
- Click "Save." The message "Telegram settings saved!" will appear.
After saving, the field shows a shortened token ("Token saved: …"). To replace the bot, paste the new token and click "Save" again.
Step 3. Check that it works
- Find your bot in Telegram by the username you set in BotFather, and tap "Start."
- Ask a question that Binom should be able to answer, for example, about a price or product availability.
- Open Chats: in the source filter, select "Telegram" and find the conversation.
You can place the bot link (https://t.me/bot_username) on your website, in your social media profiles, and on your packaging.

How to disconnect the bot
On the same tab, click "Disconnect" and confirm. The saved token will be deleted, and the bot will stop passing messages to Binom.
Possible problems
"Could not save Telegram settings. Check the bot API token and try again"
What to check: that the token was copied completely, with no spaces at the beginning or end.
What to do: copy the token from the BotFather message again (or get a new one with the /token command in BotFather) and save.
How to tell it is fixed: the message "Telegram settings saved!" appears.
"This bot token is already connected in another integration. Each integration needs a separate bot"
What it means: this bot is already in use, for example, for team notifications.
What to do: create a second bot in BotFather and connect its token.
Integration not available on your current plan
What you see: the card for this integration in the Integrations catalog is grey and marked "Not available on your plan," or the tab says "Telegram integration is available on higher plans." On the free Free plan, messengers and external services cannot be connected (Free plan limitations).
How to switch to the required plan:
- Find out which plan you need: in the Integrations section, hover over the gray card. The tooltip "Upgrade to …" will name the most affordable plan that includes the Telegram integration. To compare the Free, Basic, Pro, and Business plans, see how much Binom AI costs.
- Open Subscription. If you are on the free plan, click "Choose plan." If you are on a paid plan, click "Compare plans."
- Select a plan and billing period (monthly, every 3 months, or yearly) and click "Confirm and pay." The payment page will open.
- After payment, you will see "Subscription payment successful!" Return to Integrations → "Telegram: customer chat". The card will be marked "Available."
Want to try it first? The 7-day trial includes the features of the Basic plan: how to subscribe or start a trial. If you see "Payment was not completed. Your plan has not changed" after paying, retry the payment or email support@binomai.com with your account email and the plan you selected.
"You don't have permission to manage this section" message
What it means: only users with Owner or Admin access for the selected Binom can set up integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you Admin access or to handle the task themselves. For more details, see access levels in a team.
How to tell it's resolved: after refreshing the page, the integrations catalog opens.
