How to connect Stripe to Binom: payment links in chat, invoices, payment status, refunds and subscriptions. Available on request.
Binom's chatbot for Stripe handles payments right inside the conversation: it creates Stripe Checkout payment pages, issues and sends invoices, checks payment status, and processes refunds. Customers pay without leaving the chat, and you don't have to forward invoices by hand. Stripe is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → Stripe.
What Binom can do in Stripe
Here, Binom means your AI employee. Once Stripe is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Stripe).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Checkout payments | Checkout sessions and their line items | Creating a payment page, closing an unfinished payment |
| Payments | Payments and charges, searching by customer, status, and amount | Creating, confirming, capturing, and canceling a payment |
| Invoices | Invoices, search, preview of the next invoice | Creating a draft, line items, finalizing, sending, paying, voiding |
| Customers | Customers, search by email, name, and phone, payment methods | Creating and updating a customer, attaching a payment method |
| Subscriptions | Subscriptions and their items, search | Creating, updating, canceling, and resuming a subscription |
| Refunds | Refunds | Full or partial refund, canceling a pending refund |
| Products and prices | Products, prices, payment links | Creating and updating products and prices |
| Discounts | Coupons and promotion codes | Creating a coupon and a promotion code |
| Disputes and balance | Disputes, balance, balance transactions, payouts | Responding to a dispute and closing it |
Can you accept a Stripe payment directly in the chat?
Yes. When a customer is ready to buy, Binom uses the "Create Checkout Session" action to create a Stripe payment page with the right line items and sends the link in the conversation. The payment is completed on Stripe's secure page, so card details never reach the chat. Binom checks the payment status using the "Get Payment Intent" or "Get Checkout Session" actions.
How to issue and send an invoice to a customer through Stripe
- Binom finds the customer in Stripe ("Search Customers") or creates a new one ("Create Customer").
- It creates an invoice draft ("Create Invoice") and adds line items ("Create Invoice Item").
- It finalizes the invoice ("Finalize Invoice") and emails it to the customer ("Send Invoice").
Processing a refund through the chat
If a customer asks for their money back, Binom finds the payment and issues a full or partial refund using the "Create Refund" action. It's helpful to keep "Ask before changing data" turned on for these actions.
How to get the Stripe integration
Stripe is set up on request: first, the Binom team configures the integration for your account.
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Stripe" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Stripe card.
- The Stripe integration page for the assistant will show the message "This integration is available on request. Request it now, and we'll set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows what access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Stripe.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You'll receive a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Stripe page.
- Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connect Stripe" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation hasn't arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Stripe
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant may perform. Until you select something, it has no access to any of them."
- On the Stripe page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your response.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To get started, "Search Customers," "Create Checkout Session," "Get Payment Intent" and "List Invoices" are enough. Add update and delete actions when you are ready to trust Binom with changes in Stripe.
How to check that the integration works
- Turn on test mode in Stripe or use a small amount. Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, and ask it to request payment for a product. Check that a payment link was sent.
- Ask for the status of the test payment and compare the answer with Stripe.
- Ask it to create a test invoice and check that it appears in Stripe.
