Envi integration: supplies, requests and purchasing for clinics – Envi at Binom

Updated 6 min read 11 / 20
Short answer

How to connect Envi to Binom: supply stock levels, restocking requests, and the status of orders with suppliers. Available on request.

The Envi integration with Binom helps medical facilities with supply management: the AI employee answers questions about the availability and storage locations of consumables, creates a replenishment request, and reports the status of a supplier order to the team. Envi is available on request in the Binom cabinet: Integrations → More integrations → Envi.

What Binom can do in Envi

Binom here refers to your AI employee. Once Envi is connected, it calls the service's actions when a conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the cabinet, every action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or removes data in Envi).

Section What Binom can view What Binom can change
Inventory Items, storage locations, stock levels and value, stock snapshots Creating and editing items and storage locations
Requisitions Requisitions and their items, fulfillment Creating, submitting, canceling, items
Purchasing Supplier purchase orders, confirmations, receiving No
Consumption Write-offs by procedure Adding and submitting write-offs
Suppliers Suppliers, their addresses and contacts, manufacturers Creating
Invoices Matched invoices, payment batches Payment batches

Can Binom tell me the stock level of a consumable in Envi?

Yes. Binom finds the item ("Get The List Of Inventory Items") and reports the stock level and value by storage location ("Get Inventory Location Cost And Quantity").

Replenishment request from a conversation

When a staff member mentions that a consumable is running low, Binom creates a requisition ("Create Standard Requisition"), adds items ("Add Requisition Item"), and submits it ("Submit Requisition").

Supplier order status

Binom finds the order ("Get Purchase Order") and reports whether it has been confirmed and whether the goods have been received.

What access will be needed

Connection method: OAuth 2.0 using the user's login and password. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Envi page in the cabinet.

How to get the Envi integration

Envi is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions on how to connect a service from "More integrations".

  1. Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Envi" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Envi card.
  2. The "Envi integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Envi.
  3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration becomes available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
  4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Envi page.
  5. Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Envi" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

How to choose what Binom can do in Envi

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account page says so directly: "Select the actions the assistant may perform. Until you select something, it has no access to any of them."

  1. On the Envi page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
  2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom describes what it is about to do and waits for your reply.
  3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "Get The List Of Inventory Items", "Get Inventory Location Cost And Quantity", "Create Standard Requisition" and "Get Purchase Order" are enough. Add actions that change or delete data when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Envi.

How to check that the integration works

  • Start a new chat with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, ask for the stock level of a real item, and compare it with Envi.

Possible problems

Binom does not use Envi data in its answers

What to check: that the Envi status is "Connected" and that the required actions are selected (for example "Get Inventory Location Cost And Quantity").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new chat Binom answers using Envi data.

"Could not save the request. Please try again."

What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Envi).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".

"Integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Envi can be connected.

"Reconnection required"

What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Envi page under More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".

"Could not start the connection. Please try again."

What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Envi) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect Envi" window opens.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Envi again.

"You do not have permission to manage this section."

What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Envi yourself. More details: team access levels.
How to tell it's fixed: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem isn't solved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of your Binom and the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

How to disconnect Envi

On the Envi page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Envi?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the access details again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

More questions

Do I need a developer to integrate Envi?

No. You request Envi in Integrations → More integrations, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
