How to connect Campfire to Binom: invoices for clients, payment marks, invoice status, and credit notes. Available on request.
The Campfire integration with Binom moves agreements from conversation into accounting: the AI employee creates an invoice, marks it paid, tells the client the invoice status, and keeps credit notes. Campfire is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → Campfire.
What Binom can do in Campfire
Binom here means your AI employee. Once Campfire is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is marked read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Campfire).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices | Client invoices, invoice payments | Create, edit, void, mark as paid |
| Credit notes | Credit notes | Create, edit, void |
| Vendors | Vendors, vendor bills and their drafts, payments | Create and edit, mark as paid |
| Accounting | Chart of accounts, journal entries, departments, legal entities | Create and edit |
| Reports | Balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance | No |
Can the chatbot issue an invoice in Campfire?
Yes. Binom creates an invoice ("Create Invoice") based on the conversation and later reports its status ("Retrieve Invoice").
Marking a payment
When a client reports a payment, Binom marks the invoice as paid ("Create Invoice Payment").
What access you will need
Connection method: API key. The token gets the permissions of the role of the user who created it. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" section on the Campfire page in your account.
How to get the Campfire integration
Campfire is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. General catalog rules are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Campfire" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Campfire card.
- On the "Campfire integration for assistant" page, you will see the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Campfire.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." appears, and the button changes to "Requested".
- A Binom team member will contact you about setup. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Campfire page.
- Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connecting Campfire" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete: check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Campfire
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant may call. Until something is selected, it has access to none."
- On the Campfire page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your confirmation.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To start, "List Invoices", "Create Invoice", "Retrieve Invoice" and "Create Invoice Payment" are enough. Add write and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Campfire.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new chat with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, and agree on a test purchase. Check the invoice in Campfire.
- Void the test invoice after checking it.
Possible issues
Binom does not use Campfire data in its answers
What to check: that the Campfire status is "Connected" and that the needed actions are ticked (for example "Create Invoice").
What to do: tick the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new chat Binom answers using Campfire data.
"Could not record the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Campfire).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".
"The integration is temporarily unavailable – your request has been recorded."
You don't need to do anything else: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Campfire can be connected.
"Reconnection required"
What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Campfire page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Campfire) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect Campfire" window opens.
"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what is included in each plan, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Campfire again.
"You do not have permission to manage this section."
What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Campfire yourself. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it's fixed: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem persists, email support@binomai.com or write "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect Campfire
On the Campfire page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Campfire?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.
Other common questions
Do I need a developer to integrate Campfire?
No. You request Campfire in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
