How to connect Zoom to Binom: meeting with invitation link, rescheduling, webinar registration. Available on request.
The Zoom integration with Binom schedules meetings and registers people for webinars right in the conversation: your AI employee creates a Zoom meeting, sends the client an invitation with a link, and registers them for a webinar. Zoom is available on request in your Binom account: Integrations → More integrations → Zoom.
What Binom can do in Zoom
Here, Binom means your AI employee. After you connect Zoom, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the account, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Zoom).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Meetings | Meetings, upcoming meetings, invitation, past meetings and participants | Create, update, delete, register a participant |
| Webinars | Webinars, registrants, participants, questions | Create, update, register a participant |
| Chat | Team Chat channels and messages | Send a message, channels |
| Users and groups | Users, groups, settings | Create and update |
Can a chatbot schedule a Zoom meeting?
Yes. Binom creates a meeting at the agreed time ("Create Meeting") and sends the client the invitation text with a link ("Get Meeting Invitation"). If the client asks to reschedule, Binom changes the time ("Update Meeting").
Webinar registration
Binom shows upcoming webinars ("List Webinars") and registers the client ("Add Webinar Registrant"). For a meeting with registration, it signs people up via "Add Meeting Registrant".
What access you will need
Connection methods to choose from: sign in with OAuth 2.0 (you log into your service account and confirm access); Server-to-Server OAuth. Some actions require Zoom administrator rights; Server-to-Server OAuth requires an app in Zoom Marketplace. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" section on the Zoom page in your account.
How to get the Zoom integration
Zoom is set up on request: first, the Binom team configures the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the guide how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Zoom" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Zoom card.
- The page "Zoom integration for assistant" will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Zoom.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will get a notification when the integration becomes available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Zoom page.
- Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Zoom" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If you see "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute.", click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Zoom
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The account states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, it cannot use anything."
- On the Zoom page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before a write or delete action, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your reply.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms your changes.
To start, "List Upcoming Meetings", "Create Meeting", "Get Meeting Invitation" and "Add Webinar Registrant" are enough. Add write and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Zoom.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through a public chat link, ask it to schedule a test meeting, and check it in Zoom.
- Delete the test meeting after checking.
Possible issues
Binom does not use Zoom data in its replies
What to check: the Zoom status is "Connected", and the needed actions are selected (for example "Create Meeting").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is fixed: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Zoom data.
"Could not save the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Zoom).
How to tell it is fixed: the button shows "Requested".
"Integration is temporarily unavailable. Your request has been saved."
Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Zoom can be connected.
"Reconnect required"
What it means: "The service no longer accepts the saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Zoom page in More integrations, click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is fixed: the status is "Connected".
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message repeats, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Zoom), and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is fixed: the "Connect Zoom" window opens.
"On a paid plan" instead of a connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will notify you when it launches." For what is included in each plan, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Zoom again.
"You do not have permission to manage this section."
What it means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to grant you the Admin level or to connect Zoom yourself. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it is fixed: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem is not solved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the chat with Binom Tutor. Include the name of your Binom, the integration, and a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect Zoom
On the Zoom page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Zoom?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to connect the integration again and re-enter the access details." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a developer for the Zoom integration?
No. You request Zoom in the Integrations → More integrations section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect your account yourself and choose the actions.
