How to connect Calendly to Binom: check available time, book a meeting, send the booking link, and cancel appointments in conversation. Available on request.
The Calendly integration with Binom books clients into meetings directly within the conversation: your AI employee finds free time, schedules a meeting or sends a one-time booking link, and also cancels and checks bookings. The client books without leaving the chat, and the meeting appears in your calendar right away. Calendly is available on request in your Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Calendly.
What Binom can do in Calendly
Binom here refers to your AI employee. After you connect Calendly, it calls the service's actions when the conversation requires that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Calendly).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Event types | Event types, free time by event type | No |
| Bookings | Scheduled meetings and invitees | Booking a meeting for a slot, canceling a meeting |
| Booking links | No | One-time link to an event type, a configured link for a specific client |
| No-shows | No-show marks | Marking and unmarking a no-show |
| Schedule | Availability schedules, busy time from calendars | No |
| Routing forms | Forms and responses to them | No |
How the chatbot books a client through Calendly
- The client asks to book a meeting, and Binom clarifies the event type ("List Event Types").
- Binom finds open slots ("List Available Times") and offers the client options.
- Binom books the chosen time ("Schedule Event (Create Invitee)") with the client's name and email.
If it is more convenient for the client to pick the time themselves, Binom sends a one-time booking link ("Create Scheduling Link").
Canceling and rescheduling a booking
If a client says they will not attend, Binom finds the meeting ("List Scheduled Events") and cancels it ("Cancel Scheduled Event"), then can offer a new time. With "Ask before changing data" turned on, the cancellation is carried out only after the client replies.
How is Calendly different from booking through Google Calendar in Binom?
The built-in online booking through Google Calendar works without third-party services. The Calendly integration is useful if you already take bookings in Calendly and want to keep your event types and rules.
How to get the Calendly integration
Calendly is available on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. For the general catalog rules, see the guide how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, type "Calendly" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Calendly card.
- The "Calendly integration for assistant" page will show the message "Integration available on request. Request it now, and we'll set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows what access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Calendly.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You'll get a notification when the integration is available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Calendly page.
- Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Calendly" window, and click "Done." After "Connecting…" the status will change to "Connected." If the message "Confirmation hasn't arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again."
How to choose what Binom can do in Calendly
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant may trigger. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."
- On the Calendly page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes data, Binom will describe what it is about to do and wait for your response.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms your changes.
To get started, "List Event Types," "List Available Times," "Schedule Event (Create Invitee)" and "Create Scheduling Link" are enough. Add actions for editing and deleting when you are ready to trust Binom with changes in Calendly.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example via a public chat link, and ask it to book the nearest free time. Check the meeting in Calendly.
- Ask it to cancel the test booking and check that it has been cancelled.
Possible problems
Binom does not use Calendly data in its answers
What to check: the Calendly status is "Connected," and the required actions are selected (for example "List Available Times").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it's resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Calendly data.
"Could not record the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Calendly).
How to tell it's resolved: the button shows "Requested".
"Integration temporarily unavailable – your request has been recorded."
Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Calendly can be connected.
"Needs reconnecting"
What this means: "The service no longer accepts saved access details, so the assistant no longer uses them."
What to do: open the Calendly page in More integrations, click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it's fixed: the status shows "Connected".
"Couldn't start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Calendly) and a screenshot of the message.

"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will say "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we'll let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to switch plans, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Calendly again.
"You don't have permission to manage this section."
What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Calendly themselves. More details: access levels in a team.
How to tell it's fixed: after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem isn't resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" in the Binom Tutor chat. Include the name of your Binom, the integration and a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect Calendly
On the Calendly page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Calendly?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you'll need to connect the integration again and re-enter the access details." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.
