Storage Full: How to Free Up Space for Documents – Binom Storage Limit
Document storage in Binom is the space taken up by the knowledge base files in the "Documents" section, including imports from Google Drive and Notion. When storage is full, new documents do not upload, and Binom cannot learn fresh materials. To free up space, delete unneeded files in the "Documents" section.
How to tell that storage is full
| Used | What you see in "Documents" |
|---|---|
| 90% or more | A warning above the list: "Storage limit almost reached. Free up space…" |
| 100% | The "Upload file", "Import files from Google Drive" and "Import folder from Google Drive" buttons are inactive. A document uploaded over the limit gets the status "Error" |
The size of each file is shown under its name in Documents. Only documents count toward the space; knowledge cards and price list items are not counted.
How to free up space
- Open Documents.
- Find outdated and duplicate files: use the search "Search by name", the "Type" filter, or the "Mine" selection. Pay attention to the largest files.
- Check the unneeded documents and click "Delete selected (…)". Confirm the deletion.
- If the documents came from Google Drive or Notion, disconnect the extra folder or page on the integration tab: its documents will be deleted from Binom: Google Drive, Notion.
- Upload again the documents that received the status "Error" because of the limit.
Documents you have shared with other Binoms are not deleted while access remains open; during bulk deletion they are skipped (how to manage shared documents).
How to use less space
- Do not upload the same information in several files: keep the latest version.
- Move short, precise answers such as prices, addresses and names into knowledge cards: they do not take up document storage and take priority over documents for Binom.
- Upload products to Price lists rather than as documents.
How to increase storage space
Storage space depends on your subscription. The warning contains a link to the subscription page; the list of plans is on the plans and subscription prices page. After changing your plan, return to Documents and upload your files.
How to check that the problem is resolved
The warning is gone, the "Upload file" button is active, and the new document has reached the status "Indexed".
If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or in the Tutor chat with "I want to talk to a person". Specify the name of the Binom, the number of documents and the names of the largest files, and attach a screenshot of the message.
