How to connect Bullhorn to Binom: candidates and resumes from conversations, job openings, job applications, and meetings. Available on request.
The Bullhorn integration with Binom helps a staffing agency: the AI employee creates a candidate from a conversation and resume, tells candidates about open positions, submits a candidate to a job order, and schedules a meeting. Bullhorn is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Bullhorn.
What Binom can do in Bullhorn
Binom here means your AI employee. After Bullhorn is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: read (Binom only views data), write, or delete (Binom changes or deletes data in Bullhorn).
| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
|---|---|---|
| Candidates | Candidates, files, search | Create, update, parse a resume into a candidate |
| Job orders | Job orders | Create and update |
| Submissions | Candidate submissions to job orders | Create and update |
| Clients | Client contacts and companies, deals | Create and update |
| Tasks and appointments | Tasks, appointments, notes | Create and update |
| Tearsheets | Tearsheets | Add candidates, contacts, and job orders |
Can the chatbot create a candidate in Bullhorn?
Yes. Binom creates a candidate ("Create Candidate") or parses a submitted resume ("Parse Resume To Candidate").
Candidate for a job order
Binom shows the candidate suitable job orders ("List Job Orders"), submits the candidate to a job order ("Create Job Submission"), and schedules a meeting with a recruiter ("Create Appointment").
What access you will need
Connection methods to choose from: sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you sign in to your service account and confirm access); OAuth 2.0 with non-interactive sign-in of an API user. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Bullhorn page in the dashboard.
How to get the Bullhorn integration
Bullhorn is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions how to connect a service from "More integrations".
- Open Integrations → More integrations, enter "Bullhorn" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Bullhorn card.
- On the "Bullhorn integration for assistant" page, you will see the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Bullhorn.
- Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." appears, and the button changes to "Requested".
- A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Bullhorn page.
- Click "Connect", go through the steps in the "Connect Bullhorn" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting…", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".
How to choose what Binom can do in Bullhorn
A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this directly: "Select the actions that the assistant can perform. While nothing is selected, it has no access to any of them."
- On the Bullhorn page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. To find them by name, use the "Filter by actions" field. The counter shows how many are selected.
- Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes a record, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your confirmation.
- Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.
To get started, "List Job Orders", "Create Candidate", "Create Job Submission" and "Create Note" are enough. Add actions that edit or delete records when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Bullhorn.
How to check that the integration works
- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the public chat link, and leave test candidate details. Then check the candidate in Bullhorn.
- Delete the test candidate after checking.
Possible problems
Binom does not use Bullhorn data in its answers
What to check: that the Bullhorn status is "Connected" and the needed actions are selected (for example "Create Candidate").
What to do: select the actions and click "Save".
How to tell it is resolved: the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Bullhorn data.
"Could not submit the request. Please try again."
What to do: click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Bullhorn).
How to tell it is resolved: the button shows "Requested".
"Integration temporarily unavailable – your request has been recorded."
Nothing else is needed: your request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Bullhorn can be connected.
"Reconnection required"
What it means: "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
What to do: open the Bullhorn page under More integrations, click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
How to tell it is resolved: the status shows "Connected".
"Could not start the connection. Please try again."
What to do: click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Bullhorn) and a screenshot of the message.
How to tell it is resolved: the "Connect Bullhorn" window opens.
"On a paid plan" instead of the connect button
The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will notify you when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the plans and subscription pricing page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide how to change or upgrade your plan. After changing your plan, return to More integrations and open Bullhorn again.
"You do not have permission to manage this section."
What this means: only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
What to do: ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Bullhorn yourself. Learn more: team access levels.
How to tell it's resolved: after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.
If the problem persists, email support@binomai.com or message "I want to talk to a person" to Binom Tutor in the chat. Include the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.
How to disconnect Bullhorn
On the Bullhorn page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Bullhorn?" dialog will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.
Other common questions
Do I need a developer to integrate Bullhorn?
No. You request Bullhorn in Integrations → More integrations, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
