# Zoho Desk Integration: Tickets from Chats and Request Status - Zoho Desk at Binom

*Updated: 21.10.2026, 11:14 UTC*

The Zoho Desk integration with Binom passes requests from chats to your support team: the AI employee creates a ticket in the right department, finds the customer's requests, and reports their status. Operators get ready-made tickets, and customers learn faster what is happening with their question. Zoho Desk is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Zoho Desk.

## What Binom can do in Zoho Desk

Binom here refers to your AI employee. After you connect Zoho Desk, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the dashboard, each action is marked: **read** (Binom only views data), **write**, or **delete** (Binom changes or deletes data in Zoho Desk).

| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Tickets | Tickets, a ticket by number, a contact's tickets | Create, update, move to another department, move to trash |
| Contacts | Contacts | Create, update, delete |
| Companies (accounts) | Companies | Create, update, delete |
| Departments and agents | Departments, agents, skills | Add and update departments, agents, and skills |

## Can a chatbot create a ticket in Zoho Desk?

Yes. Using the "Create Ticket" action, Binom creates a ticket with a subject in the right department. Before that, Binom can create or update the customer's contact ("Create Contact", "Update Contact"). If the question belongs to another team, Binom moves the ticket to the right department ("Move Ticket").

## Request status from a customer

Yes. Binom finds the customer's tickets ("List Tickets By Contact") or a specific ticket ("Get Ticket") and states the status. If the customer adds details, Binom adds them to the ticket ("Update Ticket").

### How do Zoho Desk tickets differ from Binom tickets?

Binom has its own [tickets for operators](https://binomai.com/faq/helpdesk-tickets/). The Zoho Desk integration is needed if your support already works in Zoho Desk.

## How to get the Zoho Desk integration

Zoho Desk is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions [how to connect a service from "More integrations"](https://binomai.com/faq/connect-service-to-chatbot/).

1. Open [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), enter "Zoho Desk" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Zoho Desk card.
2. The "Zoho Desk integration for assistant" page will show the message "The integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows what access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Zoho Desk.
3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration becomes available." will appear, and the button will change to "Requested".
4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Zoho Desk page.
5. Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Zoho Desk" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting...", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete; check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

## How to choose what Binom can do in Zoho Desk

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant may perform. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."

1. On the Zoho Desk page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes data, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your reply.
3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To start, "Create Contact", "Create Ticket", "List Tickets By Contact" and "Get Ticket" are enough. Add the update and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Zoho Desk.

## How to check that the integration works

- Start a new conversation with your Binom, for example through the [public chat link](https://binomai.com/faq/public-chat-link/), describe a test problem, and check the ticket in Zoho Desk.
- Ask about the status of the test ticket and compare the answer with Zoho Desk.

## Possible problems

### Binom does not use Zoho Desk data in its answers

**What to check:** the Zoho Desk status is "Connected", and the needed actions are selected (for example "Create Ticket").
**What to do:** select the actions and click "Save".
**How to tell it is resolved:** the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new conversation Binom answers using Zoho Desk data.

### "Couldn't record the request. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Zoho Desk).
**How to tell it is resolved:** the button shows "Requested".

### "The integration is temporarily unavailable - your request has been recorded."

You don't need to do anything else: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Zoho Desk can be connected.

### "Reconnection required"

**What it means:** "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
**What to do:** open the Zoho Desk page under [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
**How to tell it is resolved:** the status is "Connected".

### "Couldn't start the connection. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Zoho Desk), and a screenshot of the message.
**How to tell it is resolved:** the "Connect Zoho Desk" window opens.

### "On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the [plans and subscription pricing](https://app.binomai.com/plans) page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide [how to change or upgrade your plan](https://binomai.com/faq/change-subscription-plan/). After changing the plan, go back to [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) and open Zoho Desk again.

### "You do not have permission to manage this section."

**What this means:** only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
**What to do:** ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Zoho Desk yourself. More details: [access levels in your team](https://binomai.com/faq/kak-raspredelit-obyazannosti-v-komande-s-pomoshhyu-pyati-urovnej-dostupa-owner-admin-editor-operator-viewer/).
**How to tell it's resolved:** after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or send "I want to talk to a person" to [Binom Tutor](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/binom-tutor-stream) in the chat. Include the name of your Binom and the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

## How to disconnect Zoho Desk

On the Zoho Desk page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Zoho Desk?" window will show a warning: "Your assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and "Integration disconnected" will appear.

## Other frequently asked questions

### Do I need a developer to integrate Zoho Desk?

No. You request Zoho Desk in [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
