# Officient integration: time off, expenses and calendar in chat - Officient in Binom

*Updated: 22.10.2026, 10:21 UTC*

The Officient integration with Binom helps employees with HR questions: the AI employee shows the vacation calendar, adds a day off, files an expense and finds a colleague. Officient is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Officient.

## What Binom can do in Officient

Binom here means your AI employee. After Officient is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: **read** (Binom only views data), **write** or **delete** (Binom changes or deletes data in Officient).

| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Calendar | Daily, monthly and yearly calendar, requests | Adding and deleting events, working hours |
| Expenses | Expenses, categories | Creating and editing |
| Employees | Employees, search, managers | Creating and editing |
| Contracts | Contracts, PDFs | Creating, requesting signature |
| Assets and fleet | Assets, vehicles, budgets | Creating and editing |

## Can Binom book a day off in Officient?

Yes. Binom finds the employee ("Search People"), shows their calendar ("Get Yearly Calendar") and adds a day off ("Add Calendar Event").

## Employee expenses

The employee describes an expense in the chat, and Binom records it ("Create Expense") with the right category.

## What access you will need

You can connect in one of these ways: an access token; or sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you log in to your service account and confirm access). A personal token is created in the Officient developer portal. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Officient page in the dashboard.

## How to get the Officient integration

Officient is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. General catalog rules are described in the instructions [how to connect a service from "More integrations"](https://binomai.com/faq/connect-service-to-chatbot/).

1. Open [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), enter "Officient" in the "Search integrations" field and open the Officient card.
2. On the "Officient integration for assistant" page, you will see the message "Integration available on request. Request it now and we will set it up for you as a priority." The assistant here is your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access you will need, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Officient.
3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration is available." appears, and the button changes to "Requested".
4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Officient page.
5. Click "Connect", complete the steps in the "Connecting Officient" window and click "Done". After "Connecting...", the status will change to "Connected". If "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete: check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

## How to choose what Binom can do in Officient

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant can call. Until something is selected, it has access to nothing."

1. On the Officient page, check the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any write or delete action, Binom will describe what it intends to do and wait for your reply.
3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To start, "Search People", "Get Yearly Calendar", "Add Calendar Event" and "Create Expense" are enough. Add write and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Officient.

## How to check that the integration works

- Start a new chat with your Binom, for example via a [public chat link](https://binomai.com/faq/public-chat-link/), ask about your days off this year, and compare the answer with Officient.

## Possible problems

### Binom does not use Officient data in its answers

**What to check:** the Officient status is "Connected", and the needed actions are checked (for example "Get Yearly Calendar").
**What to do:** check the actions and click "Save".
**How to tell it is resolved:** the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new chat Binom answers using Officient data.

### "Could not save the request. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Officient).
**How to tell it is resolved:** the button shows "Requested".

### "Integration is temporarily unavailable - your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Officient becomes available to connect.

### "Reconnect required"

**What it means:** "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant cannot use it."
**What to do:** open the Officient page in [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
**How to tell it is resolved:** the status shows "Connected".

### "Could not start the connection. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Officient) and a screenshot of the message.
**How to tell it is resolved:** the "Connect Officient" window opens.

### "Paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the [plans and subscription pricing](https://app.binomai.com/plans) page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide [how to change or upgrade your plan](https://binomai.com/faq/change-subscription-plan/). After changing your plan, return to [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) and open Officient again.

### "You do not have permission to manage this section."

**What it means:** only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
**What to do:** ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Officient themselves. More details: [access levels in a team](https://binomai.com/faq/kak-raspredelit-obyazannosti-v-komande-s-pomoshhyu-pyati-urovnej-dostupa-owner-admin-editor-operator-viewer/).
**How to tell it is resolved:** after refreshing the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or in the chat with [Binom Tutor](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/binom-tutor-stream) "I want to talk to a person". Specify the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

## How to disconnect Officient

On the Officient page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Officient?" dialog will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the access details again." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.

## Other common questions

### Do I need a developer to integrate Officient?

No. You request Officient in the [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
