# Constant Contact integration: subscribers, lists and tags from chats - Constant Contact in Binom

*Updated: 21.10.2026, 12:49 UTC*

The Constant Contact integration with Binom collects subscribers directly in the conversation: the AI employee creates or updates a contact, adds it to lists and applies tags, and, if needed, returns a client who unsubscribed to the mailing list. Constant Contact is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Constant Contact.

## What Binom can do in Constant Contact

Here, Binom refers to your AI employee. After Constant Contact is connected, it calls the service's actions when the conversation requires that data. You decide which actions are available to it. In the dashboard, each action is labeled: **read** (Binom only views data), **write** or **delete** (Binom changes or deletes data in Constant Contact).

| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Contacts | Contacts, email engagement activity | Create or update, delete, resubscribe |
| Lists and tags | Lists, tags, segments | Add to lists, tags, segments |
| Campaigns | Email campaigns and their statistics | Create and schedule a campaign |
| Events | Events | Create and edit an event |

## How do I add a subscriber to Constant Contact from the chat?

Binom creates or updates a contact ("Create Or Update Contact") and adds it to the required list ("Bulk Add Contacts To Lists") with the client's consent.

## Tags based on the conversation topic

Binom applies a tag ("Bulk Add Tags To Contacts") so the client lands in the right segments and mailings.

## What access will be needed

Connection method: sign-in via OAuth 2.0 (you log in to your service account and confirm access). Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" block on the Constant Contact page in the dashboard.

## How to get the Constant Contact integration

Constant Contact is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions [how to connect a service from "More integrations"](https://binomai.com/faq/connect-service-to-chatbot/).

1. Open [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), enter "Constant Contact" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Constant Contact card.
2. On the "Constant Contact integration for assistant" page, you will see the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you on a priority basis." Assistant here means your Binom. The "Authentication" block shows which access will be needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Constant Contact.
3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration becomes available." appears, and the button changes to "Requested".
4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Constant Contact page.
5. Click "Connect," go through the steps in the "Connecting Constant Contact" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting...", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete: check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

## How to choose what Binom can do in Constant Contact

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. The dashboard states this clearly: "Select the actions the assistant may trigger. Until something is selected, it has no access to any action."

1. On the Constant Contact page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter by actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes records, Binom will describe what it plans to do and wait for your response.
3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms the changes.

To get started, "List Contact Lists", "Create Or Update Contact", "Bulk Add Contacts To Lists" and "Bulk Add Tags To Contacts" are enough. Add the actions that change and delete data once you are ready to let Binom make changes in Constant Contact.

## How to check that the integration works

- Start a new chat with your Binom, for example through the [public chat link](https://binomai.com/faq/public-chat-link/), and agree to receive a mailing with a test email. Check the contact in Constant Contact.
- Delete the test contact after checking.

## Possible issues

### Binom does not use Constant Contact data in its answers

**What to check:** that the Constant Contact status is "Connected" and the needed actions are ticked (for example "Create Or Update Contact").
**What to do:** tick the actions and click "Save".
**How to tell it is fixed:** the message "Allowed actions saved" appears, and in a new chat Binom answers using Constant Contact data.

### "Could not save the request. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Constant Contact).
**How to tell it is fixed:** the button shows "Requested".

### "Integration is temporarily unavailable - your request has been saved."

Nothing else is needed: the request is saved, and you will receive a notification when Constant Contact can be connected.

### "Reconnection required"

**What it means:** "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
**What to do:** open the Constant Contact page in [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), click "Reconnect" and go through the connection window again.
**How to tell it is fixed:** the status shows "Connected".

### "Could not start the connection. Please try again."

**What to do:** click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, write to support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Constant Contact) and a screenshot of the message.
**How to tell it is fixed:** the "Connect Constant Contact" window opens.

### "On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the [plans and subscription pricing](https://app.binomai.com/plans) page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide [how to change or upgrade your plan](https://binomai.com/faq/change-subscription-plan/). After changing your plan, go back to [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) and open Constant Contact again.

### "You do not have permission to manage this section."

**What it means:** only users with the Owner or Admin access level can manage integrations.
**What to do:** ask the account owner to give you the Admin access level or to connect Constant Contact yourself. More details: [access levels in the team](https://binomai.com/faq/kak-raspredelit-obyazannosti-v-komande-s-pomoshhyu-pyati-urovnej-dostupa-owner-admin-editor-operator-viewer/).
**How to tell it is resolved:** after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem is not resolved, write to support@binomai.com or, in the chat with [Binom Tutor](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/binom-tutor-stream), type "I want to talk to a human". Specify the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

## How to disconnect Constant Contact

On the Constant Contact page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Constant Contact?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.

## Other common questions

### Can Binom add a client back to the mailing list?

Yes, with the "Resubscribe Contact" action, if the client asks for it themselves.

### Do I need a developer to integrate Constant Contact?

No. You request Constant Contact in the [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
