# Dynamics 365 Business Central Integration: Quotes and Order Status from Chat - Business Central in Binom

*Updated: 22.10.2026, 08:52 UTC*

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central integration connects the chat with your ERP: the AI employee answers questions about products, creates a customer and a sales quote, and reports the status of an order or invoice. Dynamics 365 Business Central is available on request in the Binom dashboard: Integrations → More integrations → Dynamics 365 Business Central.

## What Binom can do in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Binom here means your AI employee. After you connect Dynamics 365 Business Central, it calls the service's actions when the conversation needs that data. You decide which actions it can use. In the dashboard, each action is marked: **read** (Binom only views data), **write**, or **delete** (Binom changes or deletes data in Dynamics 365 Business Central).

| Section | What Binom can view | What Binom can change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Customers and vendors | Customers, vendors | Create, edit, delete |
| Items | Items, categories | Create and edit |
| Sales | Quotes, orders, invoices, credit memos | Create and edit quotes |
| Purchasing | Purchase orders and invoices | No |
| Finance | Chart of accounts, entries, bank accounts, customer payments, currencies | Journal lines, bank accounts, currencies |

## Can the chatbot prepare a sales quote in Business Central?

Yes. Binom finds or creates a customer ("Create Customer"), selects items ("List Items"), and creates a quote ("Create Sales Quote").

## Order and invoice status

Binom finds an order ("Get Sales Order") or an invoice ("Get Sales Invoice") and tells the customer its status.

## What access you will need

Connection method: sign in via OAuth 2.0 (you sign in to your service account and confirm access). You will need an app registered in Microsoft Entra ID with permissions for Business Central. Details for each method are shown in the "Authentication" section on the Dynamics 365 Business Central page in the dashboard.

## How to get the Dynamics 365 Business Central integration

Dynamics 365 Business Central is connected on request: first, the Binom team sets up the integration for your account. The general catalog rules are described in the instructions [how to connect a service from "More integrations"](https://binomai.com/faq/connect-service-to-chatbot/).

1. Open [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), enter "Dynamics 365 Business Central" in the "Search integrations" field, and open the Dynamics 365 Business Central card.
2. The page "Dynamics 365 Business Central integration for assistant" will show the message "Integration is available on request. Request it now, and we will set it up for you as a priority." Here, the assistant is your Binom. The "Authentication" section shows which access is needed, and the "Actions" list shows everything Binom can do in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
3. Click "Request integration". The message "Request sent. You will receive a notification when the integration becomes available." appears, and the button changes to "Requested".
4. A Binom setup specialist will contact you. When the integration is ready, a "Connect" button will appear on the Dynamics 365 Business Central page.
5. Click "Connect", complete the steps in the "Connect Dynamics 365 Business Central" window, and click "Done". After "Connecting...", the status will change to "Connected". If the message "Confirmation has not arrived yet. The connection may still complete, so check again in a minute." appears, click "Check again".

## How to choose what Binom can do in Dynamics 365 Business Central

A connected integration does nothing until you allow actions. Your dashboard states this directly: "Select the actions the assistant can trigger. Until something is selected, it has access to none of them."

1. On the Dynamics 365 Business Central page, tick the actions you need in the "Actions" list. The "Filter actions" field helps you find them by name. The counter shows how many are selected.
2. Check the "Ask before changing data" toggle. It is on by default: before any action that writes or deletes records, Binom describes what it plans to do and waits for your reply.
3. Click "Save". The message "Allowed actions saved" confirms your changes.

To get started, "List Customers", "List Items", "Create Sales Quote" and "Get Sales Order" are enough. Add write and delete actions when you are ready to let Binom make changes in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

## How to check that the integration works

- Start a new chat with your Binom, for example via the [public chat link](https://binomai.com/faq/public-chat-link/), ask about a real order, and compare the answer with Business Central.

## Possible problems

### Binom does not use Dynamics 365 Business Central data in its answers

**What to check:** the Dynamics 365 Business Central status is "Connected" and the needed actions are selected (for example "List Items").
**What to do:** select the actions and click "Save".
**How to tell it's resolved:** the "Allowed actions saved" message appears, and in a new chat Binom answers using Dynamics 365 Business Central data.

### "Couldn't save the request. Try again."

**What to do:** click "Request integration" again. If the message keeps appearing, email support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom and the integration (Dynamics 365 Business Central).
**How to tell it's resolved:** the button shows "Requested".

### "Integration is temporarily unavailable - your request has been saved."

No further action is needed: the request is saved, and you will get a notification when Dynamics 365 Business Central can be connected.

### "Reconnect needed"

**What this means:** "The service no longer accepts saved access, so the assistant does not use it."
**What to do:** open the Dynamics 365 Business Central page under [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14), click "Reconnect", and go through the connection window again.
**How to tell it's resolved:** status "Connected".

### "Couldn't start the connection. Try again."

**What to do:** click "Connect" again. If the message keeps appearing, email support@binomai.com with the name of your Binom, the integration (Dynamics 365 Business Central), and a screenshot of the message.
**How to tell it's resolved:** the "Dynamics 365 Business Central connection" window opens.

### "On a paid plan" instead of the connect button

The page will show "Available on a paid plan. Tell us what you need, and we will let you know when it launches." For what each plan includes, see the [plans and subscription pricing](https://app.binomai.com/plans) page, and for how to change your plan, see the guide [how to change or upgrade your plan](https://binomai.com/faq/change-subscription-plan/). After changing your plan, return to [More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) and open Dynamics 365 Business Central again.

### "You don't have permission to manage this section."

**What this means:** only users with the Owner or Administrator access level can manage integrations.
**What to do:** ask the account owner to give you the Administrator access level, or connect Dynamics 365 Business Central yourself. More details: [access levels in a team](https://binomai.com/faq/kak-raspredelit-obyazannosti-v-komande-s-pomoshhyu-pyati-urovnej-dostupa-owner-admin-editor-operator-viewer/).
**How to tell it's fixed:** after you refresh the page, the integration settings open.

If the problem persists, write to support@binomai.com or type "I want to talk to a human" in the chat with [Binom Tutor](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/binom-tutor-stream). Include the name of the Binom, the integration, and attach a screenshot of the message.

## How to disconnect Dynamics 365 Business Central

On the Dynamics 365 Business Central page, click "Disconnect". The "Disconnect Dynamics 365 Business Central?" window will show a warning: "The assistant will lose access to the service. To restore it, you will need to reconnect the integration and enter the credentials again." Confirm, and the message "Integration disconnected" will appear.

## Other common questions

### Do I need a programmer to integrate Dynamics 365 Business Central?

No. You request Dynamics 365 Business Central in the [Integrations → More integrations](https://app.binomai.com/cabinet/binom/integrations?tab=14) section, the Binom team sets up the integration, and then you connect the account yourself and choose the actions.
